Dear Spiders - My husband and I went to the Chrysler Museum here in Norfolk earlier today to see the exhibit "From Goya to Sorolla", a visiting exhibition of 19th and 20th century Spanish masters on loan from the Hispanic Society of America in Manhattan.
One of the paintings caught my eye because a little Spanish girl is making lace. The painting is entitled "Children at School" and was painted by Eugenio Hermoso Martinez in 1904. I found a picture on the web, for those who are interested ( http://www.dailypress.com/features/dp-museums-hispanicart_pg,0,7910703.photog allery?coll=dp-widget-life&index=7). They all look a little nonplussed in their starched white dresses but it was a nice surprise, all the same.
