Someone wrote me that they didn't know where to sign up for the raffle, except through the List.
On my computer, I see the email of the person sending a message (from) as well as Arachne's address (to). When I use 'reply', it picks up the sender's address, not Arachne, since it replies to the sender. When I want to reply to the List, I click 'reply all' and it will pick up both the sender and Arachne. I can either send to both, or remove the sender's email, leaving only Arachne. Other email programs may work differently, but somewhere on each message it should have the email of the particular sender, even if you have to Copy and Paste to put it in the correct spot. If you take the Digest, then you may have to Copy and Paste since it lumps all the messages together with Arachne as the sender. Using 'reply' on that would take you back to the List. If your computer won't tell you the sender's email, then your best choice is the List. Or send a message asking for the right address or for the raffle person to contact you. If we lived in a perfect world, all our computers would have the same programs, but they don't....so we muddle along the best we can. I remember the days we each had to put our email address after our signature because some computers did not show the addresses in the headings at all. Those people didn't have a clue where to write to anyone on the list. I haven't heard that complaint for some years now, so some things are improving. These days we just request your general location after your name, such as country or state, or your town if you prefer, so we know which area of the world you live in. Do the best you can, with what your computer allows you to do. The important thing is to have fun with your lace and your lace friends. I'll get off my soap box now. Do join in this raffle. One of my students had this book, and made some of the purses. They are delightful. Whomever gets the book will love it. Alice in Oregon -- still recovering from a 3-day sewing seminar.
