I have Dentelle Normandes; Polychrome de Courseulles (and translation)
by Claudette and Michel Bouvot. While the instructions part of it *is*
rather skimpy (6 pages, mostly photos and diagrams), it concentrates on
how Polychrome differs from plain-vanilla Bayeux (how to mix weaver
threads, how to introduce them into the motif, which stitches are used
where). Additionally, the earlier patterns tell you what threads to use
where, how many strands for the workers, and illustrate 9via enlarged
photos) the effects of changing colours (of both ground and worker
threads). I found it sufficient, but only in addition to books on
Bayeux.
