Hallo Tania, I was taught by my tutor many years ago to make a nice spider after completing the half stitch outline remove the pin at the centre of the spider and smooth down your bobbins that made the spider it then goes nice and flat and avoids that little peak in the middle of the spider and looks far more attractive.
