Another time, if your friend wants to use the silk textile as a table centre, advise her to cover it with a new piece of clear vinyl. The 'dollar' stores sell clear table covers, though they look cheap compared to the heavier grade vinyl which can be bought by the yard at fabric or hardware stores. The table will look just as dressy and the silk will be protected.
