My Dear Gentle Spiders, As Tamara said, Clay did the planning, grunt work, and "tote and carry" by herself for the most part. Susan Wetzel and Karen Douglas lent helping hands, I believe, as well as our own Tamara. What with Clive's CA, I wasn't able to attend but did sew pillow tidys for favors and offered a raffle drawing. Clay is such a fantastic, intelligent person, and being an alumnus of Sweet Briar, has the privilege of making use of the beautiful campus facilities. We have had a couple of NCRL Lace Days there and one couldn't want for a better venue. While I'm making Clay eternally beholden to me by my publishing some of her attributes, let me tell you that she is responsible for having Elizabeth Kurella put the Cone lace collection in the Sweet Briar Textile Museum (I think that is what it is called). All things going according to plan, next year I shall be in attendance at Sweet Briar, and those of you who plan to fly into Roanoke, I'll give you a ride to Sweet Briar - you can even overnight with me prior to...
