You hadn't mentioned the size! Yes that would be rather hard to get though a printer.

OHP film is also called acetate sheets. I can find that in 50 inch wide sheets at Dickblick, but at a quick glance it is only clear. Some acetate is smooth on one side so that you can color it

Personally, I would probably stick with as fine a weight of chiffon as you can find - you can definitely stitch through it and roll it, but it may blur your painted image more than acetate.

Some chiffon (silk) can be painted / dyed to whatever shade you like

Organza may also work, but is usually thicker.

Silk chiffon doesn't burn as easily to seal the edge, but that wouldn't be a problem if you were covering the whole piece and framing it

I had thought of chiffon (but not the soldering).
I forgot to say that we are talking about a piece of film which needs to be about 1 meter by 1.5 meters - pretty big
