Dear Friends,
Today I went to our Spotlight Store to check out the sheer fabrics and came home with 1 meter of something called Lyon Organza. It's a deep metallic bronze and very sheer. However, when I laid it over the picture, I don't think it's dark enough. I may have to go back and get the chocolate one.

So that you will understand a bit better I need to explain this picture. I wanted to draw the portrait so that it complemented textile work and so I did it in the form of those old charts for filet crochet or knitted lace - you know the B&W graphed designs. Each little square is only 1mm and the finished portrait is about 650 by 950 mm. It's stunning - even if I do say so myself. So you can see why I don't want this fabric to detract from it's detail

Shall keep you informed,
David in Ballarat
