Reminds me of my brother who ended up over 6'4" tall. I was transferring into a class in high school. The teacher had had my brother in a previous class and upon recognizing my last name (Bachman), he asked if Bill was my brother. I said yes, and he asked, "Tell me, do his arm still reach his knees?!?"

Actually the fingertip to fingertip measurement (on someone of normal proportions) is the same as their height

Oh my... I've always known I'm not "someone of normal proportions", but I didn't know by just how much I was off the charts... :) Since childhood I've often been the recipient of witty gems such as: "can you tie your shoes while standing at attention?" And: "you confirm that Darwin's theory of the origin of the species was correct".

My hand-span (fingertip to fingertip) is tape-measure (5ft)+ 7.5". Even before I started shrinking with age, I was never taller than 5ft, 2.5"... I guess I'd be your preferred textile seller, for as long as I managed to survive on negative income :)
