There is an "adaptor for continentals" available from John Beswick for his
bobbin winder.  As I only use Midlands, I don't have one of these, so I
can't say how well it works.

The best way to get in touch with the Beswicks from overseas would be to
write to them, J & CG Beswick, Torchon House, c/o Post Office Uraidla 5142
SA, Australia.

John also makes a Pocket Bobbin Tree - a slim tube capped with plastic caps,
with four plastic legs inside.  Two legs form the base, the tube stands in
slots in these to form a pillar, and the other two legs form a cross at the
top, from which one can hang many pairs of bobbins as you wind them.  Again
all its own little blue fabric carry bag.

And John's wooden folding pillow stand is again a marvel of engineering -
lightweight, stable, portable, adjustable - all I could wish for
