Dear Friends,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jackie BOWHEY of Queensland,
formerly Pennsylvania. I shall never forget the day I had with her in
Darwin when she showed me her beautiful lace chess board.
Most of you won't realize, but some years ago now I dared to ask
Arachne whether any of you were African Americans, 'cos I couldn't
tell by email and had never met one. This was in fact a dare from
Jackie. She even bet me 20 cents that no-one would be African
American. Needless to say I won that bet, and Jackie dutifully sent
me a 20 cent piece in the post. I do hope her little dog is OK if
he's still around.
