It would be greatly appreciated if I could be given
suggestions for thread equivalents (hopefully
available in the USA) for the following:
Schappeseide Nel 50/3
Schappe silk - ie spun silk. NeL means English Linen number so similar thickness to 50/3 linen
about 20 w/cm

Tussah-Seide 20/2
Wild silk 20/2 - could be any numbering system but probably cottoncount
William Hall do a 2/20 which is 18 wraps/cm, similar to Perle8
Pipers do a 20/2 reeled silk which (I think) is two plies of 20 denier spun together, very fine, 62 wraps/cm, equivalent to Egyptian gassed cotton140/2

Schappeseide Nm 120/2
Shappe silk, ie spun silk 120/2
Bart & Francis and Treenways both make that size

Baumwoll-Hakelgarn Liana 20
I agree with Bev, crochet cotton 20
Coats Liana 20 (I've only seen size 10 and size 15, which was slightly thicker than the 10)

Leinen 50/2
Linen 50/2
Bockens 50/2 or Fresia 50/2

Leinen 16/2
Linen 16/2
Probably Bockens Lingarn, equivalent thickness to Perle 5
