Please, everyone, take a deep breath and remember that a lot of lists have these
blow-ups in August (holidays are another popular time for eruptions). It's
probably the heat. Get yourself a glass of cold lemonade and, if you're still
upset, turn the computer off for a couple days. Or, better yet, go do something
lace-related and tell the rest of us about it. The lace list (this one) is for
postings related to lace. The lace-chat list is for non-lace topics among
lacemakers; this includes chat, jokes, movies, weather reports, Secret Pal
thank-you notes, etc.

I haven't been making lace except for some rather pedantic tatting (a Teiko
Fujito doily--I love her designs!) that I carry to weddings and bar mitzvahs
because the shuttles fit into a small evening bag. I was in Tel Aviv last week
for a few days vacation and saw an amazing Irish crochet collar that an antique
dealer had turned into a small table mat by mounting on velvet. (It was probably
damaged in places.) Although the design was not exceptional -- shamrocks on a
picot and Clones knot ground -- the fineness of the thread was unusual.

Thank-you,

Avital
