Earlier this week Jeri mentioned that Allhallows Museum in Honiton had used lace books for sale but it's not the only place that does. The Lace Guild also has a lot of second-hand books for sale and I've just put an updated list on the Lace Guild website (url below) - you'll find it under Lace Suppliers> Books.

These books are usually from bequests to the Lace Guild - any books not already in the library are kept but the others are sold to help fund future purchases. As the librarian, Rosemary Green, has a good idea of what the books are worth you're unlikely to get any amazing bargins but you may find something you've been looking for (I noticed Jane Atkinson's Pattern Design for Torchon Lace and Inge Skovgaard's Technique of Tonder Lace in the new list) and you would also be supporting a good cause.
