Dear Lacemakers, Memory may be playing tricks on me, but it seems someone recently wrote to ask for information about Jesurum lace.
In doing other research today using Elisa Ricci's "Old Italian Laces", published in 1913, I came across a number of picture credits showing Jesurum, Venice. If you Google or use another search engine, you will find a number of listings. I looked at the first, only: http://www.jesurum.it/m/m_1azienda.html This name was given to a 19th Century household linens enterprise named after Michelangelo Jesurum. On the website, there are pictures of a Museum and of a School that bear the same name. The business has been revived and they make table, bed and bath linens. The site lists famous people of today who order from them, and stores that carry the linens.
