For all who do not know about InterLibrary Loans:

I went to my state's library quite a few years ago and researched this
subject, because this is about a lace resource. I wrote a paper that went to
Arachne, and gave LaceFairy permission to permanently put it on her site.

You need to know that if local residents and university students near you can
use this service, it should be possible for you to use InterLibrary for lace
research! In your country *it may have a different name*, but it should
provide the same basic service.

To start, your library should be able to borrow from *other libraries in your
country*.

VIP scholars are able to borrow from other countries through their own
country's libraries. Very important in the larger scheme of things, like
medical
research. Australia is one of the countries that I read has agreements with
libraries in other countries.

You need to explain to the librarian what service you want. You may have to
go there in person. Read my paper on the subject, and make a printed copy for
permanent reference. Start at the most local library for advice. Develop a
friendly dialogue with the librarian.

Wear lace, so librarian will see what you are talking about!

Many of us will be interested in how this works out for you, Jenny.
