Hi Kate and everyone There is merit in all the responses so far but I first of all agree with Sue - exerting my right to be grumpy <and grin> but certainly when the topic first came up I wrote an e-mail privately and hoped the matter could be resolved within the organization. Yes IOLI is 'big' but surely it is grown up enough to handle in-house business - ok, maybe let's not go there either. I can block the sender - however I might want to read other e-mails that the individual sends apart from IOLI business.
Laurie didn't write a very long message, kept it to the point, so until IOLI can figure out a better way to contact their membership, I can delete as required. Another way would be to use the signature space, so the message itself would be of general interest - then wrap up with the renewal reminder in the sig lines, as one would put their web page, blog URL or other personal flag.
