I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who sent their sympathy on the recent deaths of my parents. We are beginning to sort through many years of memories, and trying to terms with the fact that they are not there any more - especially the "how do I do..." questions which they were always there to answer.
Mom left two pieces of tatting in progress, a sideboard runner and a doily, the latter being worked with the commemorative shuttle I gave her for their diamond wedding last year. I think the doily is to a pattern in one of the Coats books, but the sideboard runner she had worked out for herself, so I will need to start counting her stitches to see where to go next! My eldest sister, Kate, has had Mom's copy of Angela's Romanian Point lace book, (I already have a copy) and was making a first attempt at the braid on the evening Dad died - fortunately that has not put her off, as she has now started asking me the "how do I....?" questions :-). Might make a lacemaker of her yet - she couldn't take to bobbin lace as it grows too slowly, but she has embroidered, crocheted and knitted for years. -- Jane Partridge - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
