I am happy to announce that the last two lace CDs have finally been
finished and published and are now on line for anyone who wants to
see what is there. Go to <http://www.handweaving.net/Store.aspx> and
scroll down to the lower part of the page. If you click on any of
the CD listings, you will get the contents of that CD.
You will notice that CDs 7 and 8 contain a great many DMC pattern
books and that there are more embroidery books than heretofore. I
hope this pleases you. Many of us were embroiderers before coming to
lace, and you may recognize a few old favorites.
I will still scan any books that I run into, and I hope that others
will let me know what they find as well. Sofi, in France, is just
finishing the second series of DMC Bobbin Lace Patterns. The first
series has been on the site for a while, but she hadn't found the
second until recently. LIke all future scans, hers will be on the
site but unfortunately not on a CD.
These final two CDs mark the end of the long era of scanning lace
books. It has been a good five years since we started, and while I
know that there are still old lace books to be found, we decided to
publish these two CDs to honor the first anniversary of Ralph
Griswold's death, winding up his work and our efforts to finish
things as he had wanted. The site is now undergoing a massive
restructuring, thanks to John Cropper. Much of what he is doing was
in Ralph's mind, but of course couldn't be finished. When it is
done, I think you will find it easier to search for things. It
apparently also insures that what was once Ralph's private collection
is going to have a different and more permanent status. We owe John
a special vote of thanks for all that he has been doing for the past
two years. We are all very lucky to have him on our side!
Again, I need to thank all those many people all over the world who
have contributed time, books, energy, good will, and support. It has
been a great project.

left us clean, shining, sunny and bright today with all of autumn's
many colors.
