There are some pieces of lace using rayon on my website: http://www.sandbenders.demon.co.uk/bobbinlace/sari.htm These were not the easiest of pieces to make, but that was because I used invisible sewing thread for the workers, which had some stretch in it. I have used rayon thread before. I have also used polyester for a bookmark I made in the first few months after I started bobbin lace. Not knowing it was supposed to be difficult I found it OK except for a minor tendency for the loops at the top of the bobbins to come undone. I would use either rayon or polyester again if it were the colour and effect I wanted. -- Money can't buy everything. That's what credit cards are for.
