Good Morning, lacemakers! I have had a series of emails back and forth with Susan Wenzel (Lacy Susan) about her s'Gravensmoer classes offered at the IOLI convention in Rockford. I learned that in the Bulletin, some information was left out of the description of her Jewelry class (the AM class), which is helpful to have. I'm taking the liberty to forward this to the group so that any of you who are considering this class (a wonderful class, I might add...) will know. CLASS TITLE AND DESCRIPTION: 's Gravenmoer Lace Jewelry 's Gravenmoer Lace (otherwise known as the diagonal half stitch) is a lace from the Netherlands. While it is similar to Torchon, there are special characteristics to this lace that make it a unique and fun challenge. This class is open to both beginning and advanced 's Gravenmoer students. * Beginning students will learn the basics of 's Gravenmoer lace while making fun jewelry to wear. A choker style necklace has been designed for this class which will concentrate on the stitches needed to make a very special highly popular Gravenmoer lace necklace. Advanced students will have a choice of either the 's Gravenmoer lace necklace or other patterns designed specifically with advanced techniques: a matching set of necklace, bracelet and earrings. * Class requirements for beginners are to have a GOOD TORCHON background. Knowing how to make a Torchon half stitch diamond shape and trail are a must. Class requirements for advanced students are to have a good knowledge of the 's Gr avenmoer half stitch diagonal and trail.
