For the last few months, ever since just after Christmas, I have been unable to download my Arachne digests or anything on my Claranet server account, there was some glytch in the system that prevented mail form coming in, or out. My clever son sorted out the problem at Easter and I am connected again. I really have missed reading the Arachne postings. My new book, Textiles of Southeast Asia, came out at Christmas and since finishing it, I have been very busy working on the Fractal Art Course, on-line with the Visual Arts Academy - somewhere in USA or Cyberspace. I have my Ceritificate for part 1 and am now half-way through Part 2 on Fractal Masking techniques. This is using the UltraFractal program, it is enormous fun, but NOT easy, especially since I am no mathematician. However, the patterns generated are absolutely lovely, and many could be interpreted as lace, if one could find the time!
