I made a lace fan for a friend, but she had to do the mounting herself. I
sent her a length of the silk thread that I had used to make the fan and
advised her to sew it on if she managed. I am against using glue as much as
possible for these (precious) things because I am always afraid that with
time the glue can discolour the lace or simply just come unstuck in the
future.
