I do not like to push the big divider pins into my ethafoam pillows either. (it seems barbaric!) The corsage pins are ok.
I only use the big divider pins on the pillows stuffed firmly with wool or straw. Jenny, your directions and advice are brilliant, as always. Thank you for sharing them.
