to make another pillow.....then I discovered block pillows......

I agree.....Hence my room full of pillows I made with half finished lace

That's why I like block pillows. A block and bobbins takes up a lot less
room than a whole pillow. And additional blocks are less expensive to buy.

I also like block pillows because if you start a piece then want to try out
something else you can replace the block and carry on lacing:-) I have a
trial braid of milanese sitting on one plock which is my only unfinished
piece. Normally I have one very occasionally two pieces on the go at once
and finish them off before going further. It is a good job really, I might
never get chance to go back and finish.
Neither of you are bad, just enterprising lacemakers. I have seen some of
your finished pieces and wish I could keep up:-)
I still haven't found any designs with music as the theme, (apart from one
bookmark pattern from Hornsby'sm do any of you know where I might find
something suitable?
