I bought a PDA ("Palm Pilot" was the first one) to keep track of threads, craft
books, and magazines (in case I come across back or used issues). I got one
that could hold Excel files. However, shortly after that I moved and the
pieces to connect the PDA to my computer is packed away somewhere. Still. So
I do keep the data on my computer and I print out lists when I go somewhere
there might be such stuff for sale (craft shows, lace days, workshops, etc.).
I keep my threads in plastic drawers, sorted generally by "fiber". I figure I
can refer to the book and look through the appropriate drawer for a substitute
(after scanning the list/spreadsheet to see what I have to substitute).
