Also, you should remember that the default setting of your programme means that any motifs which you save, will be pasted to the original layer on which they were drawn. If you don't wish this to happen, click on the SETUP button (third button from the bottom on the right-hand side of your screen) and look for a box headed "Paste Motifs". Click on the tick beside the words "Keep Design Layers" and the motifs will be pasted to whatever layer you're working on.
