To the lady who wishes to start Binche! I would say persevere. I too had done the usual, Torchon, Bucks, Honiton, all of which I enjoyed and still do, but then my friend and I did a Valencienne class and then moved on to Binche. I LOVE Binche. Yes it is more difficult than the other laces and does take a lot more concentration. I find it necessary to have a working diagram along side me and to put a pin in the work and then in the diagram - yes, progress is slower than I would like, but I get the piece done and I do find it really interesting to work. To me it is the Sudoku (which I can't stand!!!!) of lace and keeps my brain working!! Keep with it you will eventually enjoy it and the results are just beautiful and you get a real sense of accomplishment. All the best, Sue Fink Masterton, New Zealand PS we didn't have a book to start with, but did find the Syllabus from Kantcentrum very helpful
