The new funding regime has closed many classes, not only lace and craft
classes, but in my case foreign language classes.
Pensioners and people on benefits get no reduction in the fees anymore
in East Riding.
The colleges are going the same way.
This is the new government directives that all classes must offer a
qualification of sorts, and many people only come
for the social aspect and to learn something (both are invaluable for
many people), but faced with the high cost and an assessment, they stay
away.
