What I meant by "curve" of the thread was that I was perhaps not winding
into the thread, as you described earlier, Brenda.

Sorry I don't express myself in proper lacemaker's terms. I'm doing my best
to learn without a teacher. My Torchon pieces are pretty good now, after
several years of patient practice, and I've started Cantù. There are no lace
days or lace classes or teachers in Israel, but there are books and e-mail
lists and kind friends.

Yes, my problem seems to be the hitch. Jacquie very kindly sent me detailed
instructions just now, and I will certainly study your link, Brenda. As I'm
doing the Cantù now, I'm using continental bobbins and the ones I am using
do not have a separate head. I'll take all the good counsel I received here
today and put it into practice tomorrow when it's daylight.
