OIDFA Trip Days 20-24 Tours

There were five buses on the tours. We stayed in the same hotel for the week
and went to different towns every day. Each bus' schedule was a bit different
so only one bus load would be at a location at a time. A typical day would be
as follows:
5:30 Get up
6:30 Breakfast
7:30 Load bus
9:00 Coffee at first town, then visit a museum
10:30 Load bus
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Museum
13:00 Load bus
14:30 Coffee and visit museum
16:00 Load bus
18:00 Dinner
21:00 Arrive back at hotel

This listing might give you a little idea of a very busy and exhausting week.

My bus had 46 people on it. 26 were from Greece. There were only two from the
USA. The others were UK, Australia, Israel, Finland and Netherlands. The
Greeks frequently entertained us with singing, and a couple times with dancing.
Everyone was always on the bus at the specified time so we never lost time
waiting for someone. There were some adventures with a huge bus in those narrow
village streets, some interesting soups served with our lunch sandwiches, and
very delicious dinners. We were early at one place so the driver took us
through a national park.

One village had decorated for a festival. Each street had a different theme.
We drove down the "ice" street, the "Chinese" street, and passed the "sun"
street. We were caught behind one bridge lift over a canal out in the
countryside. Another time the road went below the canal and a boat passed over
us. There were huge elephant statues beside one road. One city had a street
lined with a double row of trees on each side. Every tree trunk was covered in
bird houses painted in bright colors.

Days 20-24 Lace exhibits now 17, I think. Churches still 9 since the doors
were locked on the ones I tried to see.
