Hello All! I'm a newbie & a gal in Pittsburgh suggested I join the fray. My friend Marjorie Preece has written a book on 's Gravenmoer & I believe she taught a class in the technique last year at the IOLI convention. "Go With The Flow" uses the flow chart method to help you get the two passes straight. The book & a CD are available from Tracy Jackson at The Lacemaker in Cortland, OH, USA. She has a website but I don't know whether I'm allowed to post commercial items on this board (??). I've not used the CD, but have made several pieces using the book. I took my first class from her last year & had only done a few small swatches including the "ugly bandage" before jumping off on the diagonal half stitch. I'm now working a lovely piece with the dreaded Duitse Plaatje in the center & gimp loop fleur-de-lis in the corners. No problem working at home without the teacher standing over me!! NOW--on to the reason I joined the list--I live in Erie, PA, USA & can't find any lacemakers in this seemingly cultural wasteland! Buffalo, Pittsburgh & Cleveland are all two hours away & with fuel at $4 a gallon, I'd like to find some lacey folks closer. Can anyone help? Also, there is a Mirecourt class scheduled for October in Smithville, OH & I'd like to attend but need to find a roomie. Many thanks. Sincerely, Susan
