Gorgeous fan! Great job, Mark. But those are Brabants, not honeycomb. True honeycomb is CTT pin CTT at each of 6 pins in a hexagon/ring. Brabants rings are torchon ground (CT pin CT) but with one pinhole in the middle missing.
With honeycomb rings, a single ring uses 6 pinholes: top-center, one below-left and one below-right from there, one under each of those two, and one bottom-center. Adjacent rings share two of the 6 pins (top-center and one of the upper side pins; or one of the lower side pins and bottom-center). The two pairs that interact at the top center separate, one going around each side and meeting at the center bottom. With brabant rings, a single ring uses 8 pinholes: top-center, one below-left and one below-right, one farther below/farther left and one farther below-farther right, one directly below each of the 2nd and 3rd pins, and bottom-center. Adjacent rings share top-center plus one of the upper side AND the far pin on that side; or far side pin plus lower side pin plus bottom-center. You have threads going around the diamond (center top to each far side to center bottom) ; a pair that goes from upper left pin straight down to lower left pin; and a pair going from upper right straight down to lower right. It's a diamond with two pairs taking a shortcut straight down (if the pinhole in the center wasn't missing, those two pairs that took a shortcut would have met in the center). I know this is clear as mud--it's so much easier to demonstrate than to put into words, but I hope you can puzzle your way through this. Robin P.
