I've just run across a book on eBay which I happen to own, and which was
highly recommended to me when I bought it. It is a very scholarly
history of lace, published in 1979, written by Margaret Simeon. This is
not an enormous coffee-table book which will tax your limited space for
books... but it *is* one of the standards in lace history, often quoted
by others.
ID # is 360090393285. Price (right now) is right. It's a good book to
have.
