Just over two weeks ago, I volunteered to co-ordinate this year's Annual Card Exchange. And then a little later I also celebrated my 50th birthday. Many thanks to those all those friends who sent me e-mails.

So far, there are 30 participants & I will be accepting names for two more weeks.
So I am posting the rules again, for anyone who didn't read them before.

Here are the basic rules of the 2008 Annual Card Exchange:
Lacemakers participating in the exchange will swap one card with another lacemaker. The card itself can be handmade or purchased, but there must be some lace on or in it & the lace can be any type of lace - hardanger, tatted, knitted, needle or bobbin lace.

The card must be mailed by December 5th at the latest, so that it will arrive before Christmas. Please keep in mind that overseas postal deliveries can take a little longer in December.

Each participant may sign up for 1, 2 or 3 exchanges.

Please give this serious consideration - sign up ONLY if you are willing to make some lace & send the card before the deadline. It is extremely disappointing to send a card & not to receive a card in return. This has happened in previous years, but if for some reason a participant cannot meet their commitment, then please notify me asap.

An e-mail needs to be sent to the sender as soon as the card has been received, & a scan needs to be sent to Jenny Brandis who has kindly offered, again, to host photos of the cards. Senders & recipients can decide who sends the scan or photo.

If you are interested in participating, please send a private e-mail to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
- please do NOT send your request to the list.
Send me your name, postal & e-mail addresses, as well as how many cards to be exchanged. The only preference that I will accept is that of sending a card within your own country. I will send a confirmation that I have received your request to participate.

I will accept names from now until October 15th, and you can start making lace for your card(s) as soon as you like. Please don't procrastinate.

I will send out notifications on Monday, October 20th. Participants should then confirm this notification with me & their "trading/swapping" partner.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Yours lacefully,
Pene
