Last night I finished my pièce d'apprentissage in Cantù. It looks pretty much like any first piece in a new technique - uneven tension, silly mistakes, a couple of missed joins... I am most definitely NOT going to post a picture of it anywhere!
But I learned a lot and I am very pleased with the piece, even with the poor execution. This was a very simple cross pattern. My next piece will be a stylized Madonna and Child, very pretty, with areas of mimosa stitch adding variety and lightness to the design. Maybe I'll be able to post that one!
