Last week I was struggling with the magic chains (russian gimps), not
quite understanding what I was surposed to be doing and Daphne reminded
me to look in the Pam Nottingham book (Bobbin Lace making) where there
is a very clear picture plus the information I needed to guide me
through. (I didn't back track then, because I had almost finished it)
Not only was I doing the twists on every row which was wrong, I was also
taking the inside 2 threads out instead of the outside threads to the
centre!!!!! So much for thinking I knew what I was doing. Still I hope
I will remember where to find the information next time around. I have
now done the same pattern twice, both look pretty good, but I am
determined to get those russian gimps right eventually. I have taken a
break now doing another little pattern, but if I get those gimp threads
right I might even be tempted to put it into the albums on arachne, <g>
I also had another lacemaker come in to check if I was still in need of
the info, so thank you again arachnians for never letting me down.
