Dear Lace Friends,

Following on the heels of the unfortunate death of the young Webmaster for
International Old Lacers, Inc. and unexpected shut down of the IOLI website:

All lace organizations and officers of the same, please review your
documents and practices to prevent this happening again. If this applies to
you,
please add to your next meeting's agenda.

It is not my intention to give legal advice. Just hope all who own lace
websites are reminded to give this subject serious consideration. On a
personal
level, loved ones need to be told your wishes to avoid such an abrupt action
as we have heard the IOLI has suffered. It would be helpful to back up your
wishes with written instructions attached to your personal legal documents.

If you also give instructions about your laces, lace books and lace supplies
as to whom their next caregiver(s) should be, it may give you some peace of
mind.

As an example, Lori (Lacefairy) and I have recently discussed long-term
provisions for protecting and preserving the Lacefairy domain name and
account.
We have heard of instances where an invoice was not paid, and a name has been
taken over by unsavory types, or those intent on selling your name back to
you at a very high price.
