You can already see that there are 'bulges' of cloth areas inside the tapes. I have a modern Chinese crocheted and cloth tablecloth that also has these bulges, and, as Brenda says, they really are a pig to iron. Whenever its washed DH and I pull it into shape when its wet to make ironing easier, but it's never perfect.
