Hello Diana and everyone I wonder what they meant by 'Buffalo' in Canada - the Niagara area perhaps? I don't think there is a town by that name - but I would be interested to know if there is. Around the same time, the early 1900's, there was an effort by the Women's Art Association of Canada to promote painting and handicrafts - including pottery, weaving and lacemaking - as a means to improve the income of women. I have some copies of plate photos of laces held by the WAAC, from one of their displays. In the end it wasn't a successful enterprise and the WAAC moved on to other projects.
