I would like to make something in lace to attach to my clothing, Not something permanent that will go through the wash regularly, but a lapel thing.
I wear lots of my lace - any kind of motif in any kind of lace. I've used Beds, Bucks, Chrysanthemum, Coggeshall, etc. Just tack it on the lapel or shoulder, using the same coloured thread as the lace, and remove it before washing. And many years ago, I bought an antique Teneriffe handkie. The material in the centre was in shreds, so I removed it and ran a gathering thread around the footside. When I want to wear it, I gather up the thread and wear it as a jabot.
