Hello! Both techniques are being worked in "embroidery land" & have been
offered at EGA national seminar within the past 8 years. I checked
www.egausa.org & did not see either currently offered in the education
catalogue or at seminar, but the lineup is always changing so keep checking
their site. One of my roommates took both classes & as an amateur observer, I
would say that the reticella was more curvy & free flowing because the
foundation fabric was stitched 1st, then voids cut away. I have several kits
with finely woven linen in my stash & the motifs include half moons, hearts &
paisley shapes that I don't recall seeing in punto in aria. EGA (non-profit)
offers all kinds of classes & networking opportunities at the local, regional &
national level plus correspondence programs. There is also a member-at-large
category if there isn't a chapter nearby or the chapter is not
convenient/compatible. Hope this helps. Susan, Erie, PA
