My 2 seniors worked out yesterday that they know enough to help each other out amid a class full of very noisy 6 year olds! I still fully expect that the fan made by my student will be a vast improvement on mine, but her confidence is waning at present- she has realized the enormity of her proposed undertaking and is having a doubtful period...when I find the new key to helping her see the value of her work, I firmly believe she will again fly! 1 afternoon a week is not helping her much, but her new teacher is not happy for her to work on her lace once she has finished her other work. A rather vigourous thunderstorm just before class also did not help the poor girl! Although she is working set patterns to achieve her goal at the moment, I am hoping that she will understand that any torchon pattern will be within her learning grasp at the conclusion of this project (and she could also tackle the learning of any other lace she wants as well). Her friend has chosen her next pattern from a selection and I am hoping this will prove contagious for them both.
