A good survey, Brenda, and I have filled it in - with my answers pointed at Bobbin lace, although I seem to do more needlelace these days.
Let us know when another survey is done, and I will happily participate. Re marking patterns - I find with some Floral Beds patterns it is hard to see what is what, so I tend to shadow in the trails with a pencil - that gives me the main 'outline' of the design, and also shadow in some of the floral parts. If it is an overlaping 9 pin edge, I use a black pen for one 'loop' and a red pen for the next(overlapping) one, so I can see exactly where I am going. I often use coloured pens to mark special features, or where there is a special technique, - so that the making of the lace is fun, not a hassel due to some back-tracking! ------And of course, I do this Before covering the pricking with 'contact"!! I agree - we Never stop learning with this craft. - that is part of the addiction, I think - More to learn - so more books are needed, - and another Lace day or workshop to attend!!!!!!!!!! :) Regards from Liz in Melbourne, Oz.
