I have not long finished the hexagonal table centre, which is printed on the front cover of the book and really enjoyed making it, It has a slightly thicker thread to pick out some of the rose petals, and I have got some pale pink to make another of the patterns (the oval one) using the same 'rose' design but this time picking out the rose in pale pink, I think the finish should be good. In the book there are also patterns for making 3D roses....... these are made in a strip and then rolled to form the rose flower, again very pretty............

There is a picture of the table centre on our new 'family' website at www.acsandj.co.uk It is under the 'photograph's' heading and then 'Celia's Lace'. I do have some other pieces to photograph and get DH to add (what would we do without them) :) but just haven't had time yet. There is also a photograph of 'The Lacemaker' but it's hiding in the embroidery section, I made this for a project that Bromley Lacemakers are doing at present to commemmorate their 25th anniversary later this year, we are making a wall hanging composed of pieces of lace made by each member of the group and it will hang in the community centre where we hold our meetings. (I've made it at 60% of the full size and used Finca 30 thread instead of Linen.) Hope you like them if/when you take a look

Since it is a favorite book, can you tell me more about "Roses in Bobbin Lace"
by Eva-Lisa Kortelaht?

I love roses and wondered if you could tell me more about it. I assume it is out of print, but what technique/s, lots of pages, & prickings, is it spectacular?!?
