I have a quick question:

I am thinking of doing some Chantilly. In the book I have, they used 250 unboiled silk for the ground and 2 threads of 120 boiled silk for the gimp. I think their gimp looks a little bit too thin but I also don't know what the size comparison is between these two threads (no brand names given).

Does anyone have any recommendations for how many times thicker than the ground the gimp should be? I seem to recall many years ago some people used several strands of the ground thread to make their gimp, but I can't recall what lace that was and how many strands they used.
