In my upbringing, sky blue pink was an imaginary or nonsense color. The parents used the term when the kids' questions either became annoying or if it was to be a surprise/secret and the parents weren't going to give an informative answer. When Dad started giving nonsense answers, we knew it was useless to ask more questions.
I have a vague recollection of hearing 'sky blue pink with purple polka-dots' but I'm not sure where I heard it. My Dad loved to tease us kids so it's the type of thing he would have said. When I see a sunset with red/pink mixed with the normal blue, I think about that saying. Lace update..... I just made a 3rd version of a bookmark pattern, and was so pleased with it, until I saw the mistake in the top corner of it. I was hoping to put it in the local gallery, but now I have to make another one. I can give this bookmark away, but not sell it. The class I was listed to teach has been cancelled due to no students. It had a very short promotion time, so I'm not surprised. But, now, since I know about this classroom and gallery, we can plan ahead for a class next fall. I can promote it through the summer at all the demos and county fairs. They can mention it in several newsletters. The local lace groups be informed and refer interested people.
