Thanks for all the suggestions.  I actually put the book in our outside screen
porch and forgot about it for a few days.  It still smells bad but I have
stood it up on a table and opened the pages up.  If we start getting more
humid days I will bring it in and store it with some kitty litter unless I can
beg some charcoal from someone.  We gave our grill to DS last summer as I now
grill on a Cuisinart electric grill.

Yesterday I had 6 new lace students.  Three finished the butterfly project.
Two had to leave early and finished one side and one was a little slow,
probably due to her age and forgetfulness.  I haven't given up on her and as
she is a friend she can come to my house for more instruction.  Several in the
class came from other States such as Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin.  A
couple of them were younger, probably in their thirties which is encouraging.
One of those joined the guild and I hope she keeps coming so we can nurture
her interest in lace.

Although I was dead beat after yesterday, I still enjoyed today when my other
guild had a class in Viking knitting with Tracy Jackson (The Lacemaker).  I
actually completed a spiral bracelet in purple and red, not realising they are
Red Hat colors until I was well on with it. I had bought the kit last year but
not got round to trying it.  I have visions of all my female relatives getting
them for Christmas gifts this year.
