Hi Francis. Last year, I flew to Europe ( Dallas, London, Amsterdam) and back with a sock on metal dpn's, and no one said any thing. Most of the time the needles will be allowed, but it is up to the individual screener or attendant. If the attendant on board does not allow you to knit, I think they just make you put it away. I only received interested questions like what are you making. I would carry a self addressed stamped envelop, so you can mail it home or to your designation if security doesn't allow it for some reason. But I have heard from lots of knitters who fly with a whole variety of needles without a problem. In London I had to throw out my babies juice boxes, but they let me keep my needles.

but ..... it is towards the BIG USA so there will be probably problems ahaed ......???? has anyone reacently done this? and dident been put out of the plane over the atlantic whit a small dingorubberboat and one paddle

i assume that they will say that i can ""kill"" more than time whit knitting needles???? if that is the case i think i feel greatly overestimated in my 007 bond capabilitys
