Hi Jane, I have two favourite pieces of lace that I have worked , the only two pieces on display in my home after 21 years of lacemaking!! The first, which hangs in my bedroom, is Eeva Liisa Kortelahti's "Lacemaker" that features on the cover of her book Let's Make Bobbin Lace. I have always loved it. The second and most recent of the two is a large Bucks Hexagon by Irene Tomlinson of Shireburn Lace. This is mounted into the lid of a memory box for my husband who died in October 2007. I made and put his initial, D, into the centre of the hexagon (where a piece of material would have been mounted). I started the Bucks lace while he was still alive so he actually saw it on my pillow and I little realised the use to which it would be put such a short time later. Bucks Point Lace is my love and my passion and in my humble opinion it is the loveliest of all our UK laces. I shall be interested in other answers as this is the first thread that has tempted me to respond; I understand I am known as a lurker!! Although my lace is not on display around my home the lace "clutter" is in every room!!!! Best wishes to all lacemakers out there from Sue in wet West Cornwall, UK.
